Meals for health conditions - chef-prepared & delivered across Australia

Food as Medicine: a healthy diet is your prescription for nutrition
Has your doctor, specialist or dietitian told you to change your diet to help manage a health condition? You are not alone — and you are in the right place. A growing body of research confirms what nutritionists have long understood: what we eat has a profound effect on our ability to prevent, manage and in some cases reverse the symptoms of chronic illness. Dietlicious was built on this principle. Every meal is chef-prepared from whole, natural ingredients with no additives, preservatives or artificial flavourings — and our menu has been carefully developed to support a wide range of health conditions, from type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure to menopause, kidney conditions, gut health, weight loss, cancer recovery and more. Meals are made fresh and snap-frozen to lock in the goodness., then delivered to your door. What could be easier than having a stash of healthy meals, ready to heat and eat?
Why food is one of your most powerful health tools
Chronic disease affects more than half of all Australian adults — and diet is consistently identified as one of the most modifiable risk factors for the most common conditions. High blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, inflammatory conditions and hormonal imbalances are all significantly influenced by what we eat every day.
The challenge for most people is not knowing what to do — it is doing it consistently, especially while managing a health condition, recovering from illness, or caring for someone who is. Cooking balanced, condition-appropriate meals from scratch three times a day is time-consuming, technically demanding and exhausting when you are unwell.
Dietlicious removes that burden entirely. Our meals are built around the nutritional principles your health team is recommending — natural whole food, high protein, low GI, anti-inflammatory, low sodium. Unfortunately processed food is associated with many health issues — but thankfully, you won't find processed foods on the menu at Dietlicious.
Dietlicious meals were selected as part of a Medically Tailored Meals study run by The George Institute for Global Health — Australia's leading independent health research body — examining the role of diet in managing type 2 diabetes. It is a distinction no other Australian ready-meal provider can claim.

Health conditions our meals can help you with
Type 2 diabetes, prediabetes & blood sugar management
Dietlicious meals were selected for a Medically Tailored Meals Study run by The George Institute for Global Health - Australia's leading independent health research body - examining the role of diet in managing type 2 diabetes. You too can benefit from our chef-made meals that have the nutritionists tick of approval for being low in calories, low in carbohydrates and low in sodium, meeting the needs of those with prediabetes and diabetes. Choose from our range of individual diabetic meals which contain less than 35g carbs per serve. Or why not try our Diabetic Meal Pack which has been specially created for diabetics or anyone who needs help with managing blood sugar levels? It's low in calories, low in carbs, high in protein, low in fat and low in salt.
Heart disease, high blood pressure & stroke recovery
Cardiovascular conditions contribute to 44% of all deaths in Australia, and excess dietary sodium is identified by The George Institute for Global Health as the single most modifiable risk factor. Dietlicious is the first ready-meal provider in Australia to switch to Heart Salt — a potassium-enriched salt containing 56% less sodium than regular salt. Every meal on our low sodium meals page contains under 600mg of sodium per serve and is naturally DASH diet aligned, rich in whole-food vegetables, lean protein and heart-healthy fats. Whether you are managing hypertension, recovering from a cardiac event or reducing your stroke risk through diet, our meals make consistent low-sodium eating straightforward and delicious. Meals for high blood pressure have never been easier to stick to.
Menopause & perimenopause
Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause — particularly the decline in oestrogen — trigger a cascade of metabolic changes including increased inflammation, insulin resistance and shifts in fat storage. The result for many women is stubborn belly fat, disrupted sleep, low energy and mood changes that don't respond to the diets that worked in their 30s. Our Menopause Diet is an anti-inflammatory meal plan specifically designed for women in their 40s, 50s and beyond, targeting the hormonal drivers of weight gain rather than simply restricting calories. High in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, fibre and lean protein, it combines intermittent fasting principles with whole-food eating to support healthy hormonal balance. It is the only delivered menopause meal plan of its kind in Australia.
Kidney disease & renal conditions
Managing kidney disease through diet requires careful control of sodium — and often potassium and phosphorus as well, depending on the stage of the condition. Our low sodium meals (under 600mg per serve) support people in the early-to-moderate stages of chronic kidney disease who have been advised to reduce sodium intake. For people with advanced kidney disease who also need to limit potassium and phosphorus, we recommend discussing specific meal choices with your nephrologist or renal dietitian before ordering, as individual dietary prescriptions vary significantly.
Cancer recovery & treatment support
Nutrition plays a critical role during and after cancer treatment — yet cooking nutritious, easy-to-digest meals is one of the last things a person going through chemotherapy, radiation or surgery feels able to do. Fatigue, nausea and appetite changes make maintaining adequate protein and nutrient intake extremely challenging. Dietlicious whole-food, additive-free, chef-prepared meals remove the effort entirely. High in lean protein (to support muscle maintenance and immune function), rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients, and free from preservatives and artificial additives, our meals are gentle and nourishing. We recommend speaking with your oncology team or dietitian about appropriate dietary choices during your specific treatment.
Gut health, IBS & digestive conditions
A diet high in ultra-processed foods, additives and preservatives is consistently linked to poor gut health, chronic inflammation and conditions including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and leaky gut. Dietlicious meals are made from scratch using only whole-food ingredients — no preservatives, no artificial flavourings, no fillers. This alone makes them significantly gentler on the digestive system than most packaged food. Our anti-inflammatory meals are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidant-dense vegetables, fibre and lean protein — the dietary profile consistently associated with reduced inflammatory markers and improved gut health outcomes. Take a look at our Gut Health Lunch + Dinner pack to improve your gut microbiome.
PCOS & hormonal health
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) affects approximately one in ten Australian women of reproductive age and is closely linked to insulin resistance and chronic inflammation. An anti-inflammatory, low-GI diet — rich in whole foods, fibre and lean protein and low in refined carbohydrates and added sugars — is one of the most consistently recommended dietary approaches for managing PCOS symptoms and improving hormonal balance. Dietlicious meals are naturally aligned with these principles: low GI, high protein, whole-food, anti-inflammatory and free from processed ingredients. Our Menopause Diet is also popular with women managing PCOS due to its shared anti-inflammatory nutritional profile.
GLP-1 medication support (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Saxenda)
GLP-1 receptor agonist medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Saxenda are increasingly prescribed in Australia for type 2 diabetes management and weight loss. While these medications are effective at reducing appetite, they do not eliminate the need for high-quality nutrition — in fact, maintaining adequate protein and nutrient intake becomes more important as overall food volume decreases. People on GLP-1 medications are at risk of losing muscle mass alongside fat if their diet is not protein-rich and nutrient-dense. Dietlicious high-protein, portion-controlled, whole-food meals are ideally suited to people on GLP-1 medications — delivering maximum nutritional value in appropriately sized serves, without the effort of cooking. We've created two GLP-1 support meals packs to help improve nutrition, reduce side effects and optimise your health and wellbeing. See our GLP-1 Lunch + Dinner Pack and GLP-1 Brunch + Dinner Pack.
High cholesterol
Eating a healthy diet plays a key role in managing high cholesterol and supporting heart health, with the right foods helping to lower LDL (bad cholesterol). Incorporating foods high in soluble fibre can help you reduce cholesterol absorption, while including healthy fats from sources like oily fish, nuts and seeds can support healthy cholesterol levels. Elderly, aged care & Support at Home (SAH)
Maintaining good nutrition becomes increasingly important — and increasingly difficult — as we age. Reduced appetite, difficulty cooking, chewing challenges and managing multiple health conditions simultaneously all affect dietary quality in older Australians. Dietlicious offers a full range of meals suited to elderly customers, including softer-textured options, high-protein meals for muscle maintenance, and the full range of condition-specific options covering diabetes, heart health, kidney conditions and low sodium requirements. We are a Support at Home (SAH) meal provider, and offer an introductory meal pack with no co-payment, for new eligible clients.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can meal delivery really help manage a health condition like diabetes or high blood pressure?
Yes — and the evidence supports it. For conditions like type 2 diabetes and hypertension, consistent dietary adherence is one of the most effective management tools available. The challenge is maintaining that consistency long-term. Dietlicious removes the primary barrier — the daily effort of planning, shopping and cooking appropriate meals — making it significantly easier to eat in line with your health team's recommendations every day. Dietlicious meals were also selected as part of a Medically Tailored Meals clinical study run by The George Institute for Global Health, examining the impact of diet on managing type 2 diabetes.
Are your meals suitable for people on GLP-1 medications like Ozempic or Wegovy?
Yes — Dietlicious high-protein, portion-controlled, whole-food meals are well-suited to people using GLP-1 medications. These medications reduce appetite, which means the meals you do eat need to be nutritionally dense to maintain muscle mass and support overall health. Our meals are high in lean protein, rich in vegetables, low in processed ingredients and free from additives — everything you need in a smaller, satisfying serve. We recommend discussing specific dietary needs with your prescribing doctor or dietitian.
Do you have meals suitable for cancer recovery or chemotherapy?
Yes. Dietlicious whole-food, additive-free meals are gentle, nourishing and easy to prepare — which makes them practical for people going through or recovering from cancer treatment. Our meals are high in lean protein (to support immune function and muscle maintenance), rich in antioxidants and free from preservatives and artificial ingredients. Please speak with your oncology dietitian or treating team about specific nutritional requirements during your treatment, as these can vary significantly by treatment type and individual circumstances.
Are your meals suitable for people with kidney disease?
Our low sodium meals (under 600mg per serve) are appropriate for many people managing early-to-moderate chronic kidney disease who have been advised to reduce sodium. People with advanced kidney disease may also need to limit potassium and phosphorus — we recommend checking with your nephrologist or renal dietitian before ordering, as individual dietary prescriptions vary.
Can I get meal delivery through NDIS or Support at Home (SAH)?
Yes — Dietlicious is an approved Support at Home meal provider. New eligible SAH clients can access a free introductory meal pack (valued at approximately $100, with the co-payment waived). To find out if you are eligible and to place an order, call our team on 1300 131 070. For NDIS participants, meal delivery may be fundable under certain support categories — speak with your NDIS planner or support coordinator to confirm eligibility or call us to discuss.
How do I know which meals are right for my health condition?
Each condition section on this page links through to a dedicated page with meals and plans specifically suited to that condition. Every meal page includes full nutritional information so you can make an informed choice. If you are unsure or have complex dietary requirements, our customer service team is available Monday to Thursday 8.30am–5pm and Friday until 4pm on 1300 131 070 — they can help point you in the right direction. You can also share our nutritional information with your GP, dietitian or specialist.
Do I need a subscription to order health condition meals?
No. There is no subscription or lock-in contract. You can order as frequently or infrequently as suits your situation — weekly, fortnightly, during a recovery period, or as a longer-term part of your dietary management. Many customers order regularly as a consistent part of managing their condition; others order during flare-ups, recovery periods or when cooking is not practical.
